Welcome to the website of
the Applied Thermodynamics Research Group, part of the Department
of Flow, Heat and Combustion Mechanics of the Ghent University.
In this group three mayor research
topics are addressed:
- thermodynamics of new energy systems
- performance of HVAC systems and energy in buildings
- complex heat transfer phenomena in industrial applications
These topics are studied by
a combined experimental and numerical approach, often in cooperation
with the other research groups of the department.
The research group is responsible
for the courses of:
- engineering thermodynamics
- thermal installations
The research group provides
services to industry with:
- advisory work in industrial heating and cooling, energy systems, heat exchangers
- determination of thermal properties of solids and liquids. For more information click here.
